i just purchased a 83 honda 673 cc v twin with a head at each knee and
shaft drive, above 100kph the things drifts to the right , 9 grand
redline ,  5 grand at 100kph , could be a death trap in a high speed
corner .

Yes, and as a result, while in gear, the engine's speed never increases
as fast as it can while in neutral. It's the crankshaft's angular
acceleration that causes the effect.
