When you arrive at work and notice a bunch of fire trucks
and all your co-workers standing in the parking lot, figure
that this may be a less than productive day. I'm informed that:

During the evacuation [after a truck severed a really big gas main]
and through an unfortunate set of circumstances, the FM-200 fire
suppression system was engaged in one of our primary labs.
Power to all systems in the lab was shut down as part of the fire
suppression sequence. The lab contains ~1500 systems ."

The fire suppression system needs to be recharged prior to
bringing power back on in the lab. This operation will be completed
by ~2:00 PM on Saturday. Teams will be working this weekend
to get systems back online ASAP and assess any damage caused
by the outage.

If this were a sub instead of a corporation, we'd all be on the
bottom of the ocean by now. Looks like I may have some extra
hours between now and Monday to tinker with the bike.

If it were a sub (at sea, anyway), trucks wouldn't be a hazard. However,
lots of boats have gone down through unfortunate sets of circumstances.

Hats off though to whoever thought it would be a good
idea to pull the alarm in the computer lab.

Taking out 1500 computers with one ill advised push of
a button is way better than I've ever managed. I've never
done better than onesies twosies.
