venture headlight/dash problem

Heya,

84 Yamaha Venture.

Headlight and dash backlight not working. Issues just started after
working fine for years. Bulbs are all good, fuses not blown, battery
fully charged.

Any Venture owners seen these two go out together and have any ideas?
Me not so great with electrical issues.

And check the grounds in the vicinity of the dash/steering head.
This really sounds like a grounding problem.

I'd think the ground connections, connectors, then I'd look at the
fuse box.  Had an intermittent tail light problem that would fix
itself or wait for me to pull and reinsert the fuse.  Turned out the
fuse holder was cracked and it took me several iterations until it
broke.  Replaced the fuse holder and voila, good tail lights.
