In my local classifieds, someone is selling a Can Am Spyder who says
"prior owner was a Reverend,...bike is blessed"

Around here they have a "blessing of the bikes" every spring. I
haven't seen any statistical evidence that the blessed bikes were less
likely to be involved in unintentional impacts, but since when do
humans need evidence to believe in what makes them feel good?

Less than a week after being blessed my last bike ('76 FLH) was totalled .
T-boned an SUV that turned left in front of me . I really really miss that
bike . Black with silver flames , paint looked like you could fall in and
drown . The factory hand shift got a lot of attention too ...

My SV got blessed years ago and about a week or two later I lowsided in
soft sand after a car forced me off the road on a HOV on-ramp (the car took
the HOV lane even though he was solo, naturally). So I am less than
impressed with bike blessings, although if you are the believing type, you
might say I was spared being killed and getting bruised up was a lot better
outcome than what could have happened.

Good point , I'm lucky to have survived that one . I was going 45 MPH when
he turned , too close to even clench up a piece of seat . Put that 3800
pound SUV on the curb ...
