I'm trying to get the headlight to work. Headlight checks out OK when I run
jumpers from the battery.
Is the headlight supposed to work with "ignition on" engine not running -
or - does the engine have to be running. Rather not spend an hour trouble
shooting in my shop and have to inhale all those fumes.

Pull out a little on the starter button and see if it comes on.
