I have a 2001 1200 bandit that likes to beat me up once in a while. I
like the bike and the power it has, but it seems a little rigid for
me. I’m 6’ tall and weight about 155lbs. So i’m a bit light for the
bike. I’ve had the bike for a couple years now, and the suspension
seems to hold me back.  Springs and valving could do the job if i can
find someone in my area. (bayarea) I’’ve seen some up grades for the
rear shock but not much in the front forks. Is there any other forks
that would lay in there? I haven’t changed the oil in the forks or
even checked the height of the oil yet. It’s a little hard with no
garage to tinker with it... Any help or a link to a good page would be
helpfull.....Or a sound shop in the San Francisco area.

There are valve kits available for the front, but I found it
sufficient to change to a set of progressive-wound springs and change
the fork oil.  Stopped the nosedive on braking, and the damping is OK
if you're not riding at the limit all the time.  I'd use 5W to start,
and test it from there.
Rear shock replacements are available, but again, adjusting
the spring rate was sufficient for me.  (I weigh somewhat more than
you).
