Hi, 75 thru 77 Goldwings had two primary chain guides, one on each
side. In 78 and 79 models they replaced one of the guides with a
tensioner. I want to know if the tensioner will fit the earlier
models. Thank you.

If you are wondering this because of the terrific clatter at idle, set
ignition timing and carb balance properly and it will go away.

Hi Tim, We have this engine apart and would like to upgrade to the
tensioner while we are in there if it will fit. There was no
particular problem related to the primary chain. Thanks.

You may still want to ask your question @ the group (classic wings) that I
mentioned. Several participants, particularly Randakk, are a wealth of
knowledge specific to GL1000's.

Hi Hank, I have already posted on the other forum. I appreciate the
tip, I was unaware of that site. Thanks for the responses guys.
