Hi All,

My bike has a dry clutch, so I?d like my engine oil to more capacle of
reducing friction inside the engine.

Any sugestions, please?

Thank you,
Big Ben

The only Amsoil Synthetic motorcycle engine oil that I found,
appearing to do what I want, is the Series 2000, 20W50 oil.

Fine that it meet JASO MB specification! Not so good that it's such a
thick oil - I doubt I'd get better off with that or with a 10w40
Synthetic MA oil ...

My purpose when riging  is not to grind thick oil and make it thin,
just to enjoy the ride, and possibly get a good mileage per gas, and
yet keep the engine in good condition.

I also do many startups and short trips, for which a 20w50 oil seems
definitelly too thick ;-)

Any other sugestions?

BTW, which separate friction reducer can you safelly add to your
motorcycle engine oil? (I know Teflon doesn't have a very good
reputation in motorcycles...)

Big Ben

Are you a lubrication engineer?  If yes, why are you asking for advice
here?  If no, why do you think you can improve on the oil specs in the
owner's manual?

Buy the correct grade and viscosity as recommended in the owner's manual.
The simplest way to achieve this is by buying oil at the place you
bought the bike.  Use synthetic if you have an excess of money and wish
to be relieved of it.  Change the oil and filter as recommended in the
owner's manual.  If you follow these simple and obvious rules you are
very unlikely to ever experience an oil-related failure.  I refer the
honorable gentleman to the fabled CBR929 profiled in MCN that has run
more than 200,000 miles on conventional oil with no engine work.

Buy hey, the best advice I ever read about oil for bikes was delivered
courtesy of our very own reekyite, XS11E:  "Oil is good, have some in
YOUR bike!"

Question: do oil manufacturers put this stuff in their oils?

Answer: No.

Question: Why not, if it works as well as the adverts say it does, and
they could obviously charge more for an oil with it added?

Answer: Fill it in yourself.

Jee-*zus*!
