Magna v30 running a little warm

 I had recently posted a similar question regarding overheating
actually I took it for a ride last night some high rpm 4 lane to get
the temp up and then let it sit at idle for a while to see how hot it
got.  Well the temp gage sits just before redline at idle.  I've taken
a look at some other posts stating that the Honda v4s do run hot
normally so is there anyone out there who owns one that can testify to
this.  And again thanks for all the help and advice

Yes and no.  They do run hot if they're left idling for a long time.  That's
also bad for oil circulation to the cams.  Ride it or shut it off.

If you're running hot under normal road conditions, maybe it's time for a
cooling system flush.  Remove the radiator and flush it out well.  Take the
thermostat out, replace the cover, and stick a garden hose in one of the
radiator hoses.  Run water through the system until the water coming out the
other hose is clear.  Then stick the hose in the other radiator hose and run
water in the opposite direction until that comes out clear.  Put it back
together and put in a new thermostat.  IIRC a Honda Accord thermostat will fit
right in there.  Make sure the bleed hole in the thermostat flange is turned up,
if there is a bleed hole.

Make sure your fanstat is working and that your fan will run.  Remove the two
wires from the fanstat and connect them.  If there is only one wire on the
fanstat, stick it to a good ground.  The fan should run when the ignition is
turned on.  If it doesn't, replace the fan.  When the temp gauge gets to about
50%, the fanstat should turn the fan on.  If it doesn't, replace the fanstat.
Again, Honda car parts will fit but you'll have to put different connectors on
the wires to make them hook up.

My wife has an Interceptor with the same engine and cooling system that you have
on your Magna.  I rode it yesterday.  It doesn't run hot and the fan comes on.
