I have just recieved a motorbike (2 stroke) it starts like a lawn mower I got
it for $200 dollars, no speed, but I have a problem. I need to know why my
'floatboat' is leaking, and why is it leaking so much Gas. How do I check the
float? Do I need to take it apart? And another problem. My 'sprocket' that is
on the back of the wheel, is apparently turning without turning the 'wheel'.
So it is turning the chain, but no wheel is turning. So while i'm reving the
engine, nothing is happening. You know? It's like it can go and than it gets
stuck again. Thank-you and thats all. Can anyone shed some light for Mr.
Clark?

Thanks,
Mr. J Clark

Your problem might just be gum and varnish making the float valve
stick open a little bit.

You can try adding about an ounce or two of carburetor cleaner to the
gas tank and see if that unsticks the float valve.

The carburetor cleaner I am thinking of is a clear mixture of methyl
alcohol, acetone, xylene, toluene, etc. It should not contain
"petroleum distillates", as fuel system cleaners with petroleum
distillates for for lubricating fuel injectors.

I suppose that your "motorbike" is a sort of moped, and it probably
has no transmission with gears, it probably just has a centrifugal
clutch and may even a sprag clutch in the rear wheel.

A sprag clutch looks like a roller bearing, but the "rollers" don't
roll, they slip or they transmit power in one direction only
