Motorcycle tire changer

 I am looking for the best tire changer to be used in a shop for all
types of motorcycle tires.Also bring into consideration what the cost
maybe. Where is the best place to buy?

 

People I know speak most highly of the Coats machines. All other brands
appear to be about equal, from what I've heard.

People who don't want to pay for the Coats stuff often go for harbor
freight. Used might be a possibility as well, though availability will
depend on season and geography.

How much are you going to use it? If it's a shop, then it might be wiser
and cheaper in the long run to get something better than Harbor Freight.

"Best" does cost, but for a shop, you don't want it to break, slow down
your tech, or injure him.

Well, unless he's a tech at Cycle Riders of Orlando, Florida, in which
case if it breaks both his arms and his skull, that's a good thing.  He
won't know how to use it properly anyway.[1]

a rim with a split rubber hose over the edge, and some plain old tire
irons from the motocross shop down the road. PITA though.

I'm thinking of getting the Harbor Freight machine for Christmas.

$80 on sale. I don't expect that to stand up to daily shop use, but
it'll be fine for my twice-a-year use.
