Hi all

Im new to motorcycles and am considering buying my first bike. I've been to
look and a KMX-125, all looks great but the seller tells me that the battery
is missing as he didnt bother to replace it when it failed as everything
works fine off the engine anyway. The bike runs fine but I notice that when
running and in neutral the oil light is on and flickering. When putting into
gear it goes out. Was wondering if  anyone can tell me if this is normal, if
its because the battery is missing or if there may be a problem with the
bike or engine?

Many thanks,

Andy

Unless someone has swapped over oil level and neutral light?

If it's got plenty of oil in it, don't worry.

Thanks for your reply, the neutral light works as it should, on in neutral,
off in gear but the oil light is flickering on while in neutral but is also
off as soon as its put into gear. Someone said that on some bikes the oil
light comes on while in neutral as a sort of conformation that the bulb has
not blown, anyone know if its the same on the KMX? Could it be because the
battery is not present and the oil light or sender is finding a ground or
earth through the neutral light?

Thanks to all,
Andy

Someone is right. The KMX, like the KDX, does this.

Stick a battery in the thing anyway.

A battery isn't that expensive, if the seller won't fit one to make the sale
he's probably hiding something.
