Modify an engine by replacing the spark plug with an injector and a
copper screen or potassium permanganate catalyst.

Inject 98% pure hydrogen peroxide into the combustion chamber.

The copper screen or the catalyst will cause the H2O2 to break down
into steam and oxygen.

The pistons will go up and down and the crankshaft will go around and
around, and the exhaust will be eminently breathable.

What could be better for the environment, besides you bathing in the
H2O2?

For more information, google up "Me-163 Komet".

Nah, run the engine on silicone oils -- instead of water and carbon
dioxide you'd get water and SiO2. If you can arrange the silica to spray out
of the "exhaust" as random molten droplets you'd have self-surfacing roads!

Are there available radio-isotopes of these, so that the self-surfaced
road would not only glow in the dark but produce enough heat to keep the
surface ice-free in the most wintery weather?

Hmm, 16-, 17-, and 18-O are stable. 15-O is the most stable
radio-isotope, but it's a bit too hot at only two minutes! 32-Si has a
half-life of 132 years, so that's a candidate.

OK, excellent, this is the germ of a ground-breaking money-spinner. I'm
off to see my patent attorney in the morning.
