The AGM/"Gel"/SLA/MF are interchangeable if you have the same specs,
and there must be one somewhere......usually some Chinese type which is OK
if you top it up once a month or leave it on charge...but the price is
right.
I prefer the non MF or non Screwed, since a lot of Sealed batteries
are still WET, and they do loose some water if your in a hurry charging
them.
Most ppl call WET SEALED Gel/AGM and other names, but they are still
WET on the manufacturers Specs., so "regular refillable ones" are an asset.
A lot of MF batts are made that way for public safety, since a lot
of ppl don't realize the possible hazards despite all the sticker postings
on them.
A reliable source for aftermakets and availability would be:
|>
|>www.discover-energy.com
|>
|>www.storedenergysolutions.com
..............the there's google, where these battery matches would come in
quantity purchased with no warranty if purchased "wholesale"....

Although AGM needs a higher Voltage to properly charge, voltage that
your Scooter/M-cycle's alternator does not generate enough of in city, some
hi-way environments, unless your in a dirt biking or other racing
environment.
AGM's usually need a monthly topping charge which neat items like
the Battery Tender Jr/Plus (13.3float) do NOT have, but the Optima and most
small car chargers have when in AGM/Gel mode (13.7float).
The older chargers will charge, but not to the AGMs FULL capacity,
but some older chargers have an absorption charge of 15volt/7.5volt as in
Foto SLA/AGM batteries...

My 4 stage Shumacher SC1200A absorb charges at less voltage in
AGM/Gel, but the float/charge is about 2 volts higher....
Most M/Cycle Scoot batteries are some form of AGM, but Gels are more
like Golf carts, RVs, and are being replaced by AGMs, which vary a whole
hell of a lot in quality, making a charging decision a bit more
difficult.....
AGMs never seem to heat up, AFAIK, but some expert may know better.
