We have a problem with the headlight. Theres 12 volts going to the
light socket, but we can not get the light to work. This bike has a
computer control in the gauge cluster. Is there anything that I should
check?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bruce

If you have 12 volts at the socket, the problem is either the bulb is gone,
or the contacts have issues. Either one is likely after 25 years.
Make sure the socket isn't cracked or broken, and the contacts are clean.
You can clean the contacts with an electronics cleaner, or get some emery
cloth and a popsicle stick.
You can use a multimeter to test the bulb, or hook it directly to a battery,
or another Yamaha, or a circuit tester, or whatever.
Start with cleaning the contacts, then worry about the bulb.

Check the continuity to ground through the socket.
