Not to mention, they look to be very uncomfortable on a long ride.

Also, don't ride through Illinois with ape hangers. They are against the
law here.

degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is

I'm not a big fan of ape-hangers, and if you're like a lot of new riders,
you will probably be trading in the 600vlx for something with more oomph
within the next 6 months or so, but you might want to check with the Shadow
riders forum at Delphi.com for input from Shadow riders.

i have a 94 honda shadow 600 and i am going to agree with the
statement that for a first bike it is an excelent bike, you will
however outgrow it within 6 months. i have had mine a little over a
year, dont ask why, but i have had good luck with it so far. as far as
ape hangers go te risers your looking at only lift the stock
handlebars and push them back slightly. not the same a an ae hanger or
are they going to make it easier to put apes on it. all they do is
raise and shift the position of the stock handlebars. i have been
looking for a baby ape kit for mine for about 6 months now with no
luck. and remember in arizona it is illigal for your grips to be above
your shoulders.
