No, you need a larger clue rake. This poor guy thinks that the spark
timing is based upon the ignition points being wide open.

He has two postings going. One asked about how to set the points gap and
the other asked how to replace the points.
Because he's even dimmer than you, he has entitled both threads
'ignition timing'.
He subsequently, in the second thread, meandered on to asking how to set
the timing.
Now, it really isn't hard to understand. But I appreciate that in your
case, it might be.

Ne need to shout.
No. The poits gap is set when the points are at their widest-open
position. Keep a close eye on the points, and rotate the engine. When
you judge they're as wide open as they're going to be, set the gap then.
