Hi,
I'd like to get to the battery on my new '82 Honda CB650sc NightHawk.
There doesn't seem to be a key-lock for the seat, but I can see the two
"hooks" coming down around bolts. The bolts don't appear to be the
wrench- or screw-type, so I'm unsure of how to remove the seat. Any
help is appreciated. Apologies for the newbie question,
Joey

Look for a key, a lever or a catch. There will be one.

How far back on the seat are these things? IIRC, the bolts that Mark
Olson is talking about are located slightly more than half-way back,
_behind_ the hooks that hold the thing down. Unfortunately I don't have
time to look at the online fiche myself, but if you haven't, perhaps it
would be worthwhile. ronayers.com has it, as well as any number of other
companies.

'indiana' is a 'nolnn' and 'hoosier' is a 'solkk'. Indiana doesn't solkk.

I have an 85 450 Nighthawk and the seat is held on with two concealed latches
under the bodywork at the bottom of the seat, well back from the shock bolts.
The latch on the right side is also part of the helmet hook. You have to unlock
the helmet hook and pull straight back on the hook AND the latch on the left
side. You can't see them unless you're lying on the ground but you can feel up
under the seat and they're there.
YMMV.

Hope I'm not too late with this, but on my '83 CB650SC Nighthawk the seat
came off by removing two bolts. They were just behind the shock mounts, just
below the seat. The head of the bolt was visible when you kneel down and get
your face about even with the top of the shock. If I recall right, it was a
hex head with a Phillips in the center too.
Please keep in mind that this is from total memory, sold that bike back in
'87.
