How do you stop squeaky brakes besides putting a little light pressure
on the pedal? Plenty of pad left.

Grease the metal to metal contact and sand the pads.
*BUT* if you are going to that much trouble you might as well replace
the pads, they are cheap. Try to find semi metallic pads as they will
roughen up the disc/drum which usually helps.

heh, don't give away too much. But I will note there is a time when
you WANT the brakes to squeak, squeal etc if you don't heed that you'l
regret it. I did...until I fixed the problem and had superior brakes
to what left the factory. 8^)
OBTW I've found that Peanut Butter does a good job of stopping
squealing.

It's the usual Krusty Krap. Sure, glazed pads cause brake squeal but
then so do other things.
