Never had a Titan/Cobra. I *did* own the GT500: electronic ignition,
front disc (hurrah, hurrah) and slightly less power, and would *still*
like another one. Somebody used to make water-cooled barrels for them,
for racing porpoises, but I can't remember who it was.

I put "green" racing linings in my T500R. They were lethal on
first use as the coefficient of friction on a slightly-rusted drum was
much higher than on a clean surface. I used to be in the habit of
dragging the brake slightly for the first 100 yards or so after it stood
overnight or longer. Dumped it with my brother on the back once, when
the front wheel locked while I was doing this.

Yeah, but those drums were effective. IMO better than the disc brakes
on a RD400 that I had opportunity to putt around on. Or the ones the
airmen at Vance AFB had hotted up and rode...they always
underestimated that old bike and it's drum brakes. Doesn't hurt that
I'd learned that old adage. "To go fast you have to slow down" ;^)

IIRC weren't those and the heads modeled on the TR500? I'll stick to
what I have TYVM. Decided on a mild stage I porting and when they redo
the crank/bearing/centre seal I'll have them fit some nice new
pistons...being as one of my has a HUGE bite out of the skirt. 8^P
Slight bob of the tail and newer taillight to fit. May put on an
electronic ignition like the GT. Just modern and likely better.

Yes, but made by someone else.
<Googles>
Norvil! Found the details. Hi-Tac was the name, but I always thought
they were known as Norvil.
