Hey, how can I tell what kind of carburetor is installed in my bike?
The owner before me put in these carbs that are a lot bigger than
stock, and frankly I think it was a crap job.
When I bought the bike, it was idling at 3K rpm, and after I bought
it, it won't start. I want to go to stock carbs, but that costs a
lot, and I already have burnt a lot of money buying some tools, so I
would like to at least figure out if I could just re-jet them.
Somebody tell me how I can figure out the carb model? All I know is
that they say "HIN" which I assume are the brand.

Keihin...
If you could take a digital picture and post it to some free photo
page, somebody might know what they are.
Another way would be to go to www.bikebandit.com and look through the
online parts fiches until you see something that looks like your
carbs.
There are two basic types of carbs used on Hondas of that era.
One is the traditional slide type carb which had a cylindrical slide
and no throttle butterfly. That type probably had a plate type choke
upstream of the slide.
The other basic type is the constant velocity (or constant vacuum) CV
carb which either had a
vacuum operated piston upstream of the throttle butterfly, or it had a
rubber diaphragm to operate the vacuum slide upstream of the
butterfly.

FFS. Just Google for the specs for an old CB350.
I never cease to be amazed by the number of people who ask the most
basic questions here, the answers for which they could find themselves
in five minutes, if they could but get off their arses.
Guess what? I've just done that and got the answer, top of the search
list.
