The '99 YZ is still in pieces. I've been working away from home and
finally had a chance to put the engine back together. Grabbed the
beautifully replated-by-Langcourt cylinder and found this:

Back in January I had managed to scuff the top of the cylinder whilst
removing the studs. Langcourt had thoughtfully repaired the scuff
(partially), but not re-machined the o-ring groove. It's been sitting
in my garage for over a month like this. They should have not shipped
this out without completing the repair, and also called to tell me
they needed to do additional work. I should have noticed this sooner.

Spoke to Glenn, he apologized, offered to put it to the front of the
line, but the reality is it will be at least 2 weeks before this is
back to me.

Like I said 3 months ago, every time I've had a cylinder replated I've
regretted that I didn't just buy a new one. Many replaters will BUY
the old cylinder outright.

The radiators are sitting in a corner with their 2mm coating of glossy
black.

The repaired pipe has a gob of weld-drip (?) sticking in the throat of
the header area, just beyond where I can reach it with a file.

Right about now the D Jones method of dirt bike maintenance is looking
smarter and smarter.

I've come to that conclusion myself...

That stinks.  Langcourt is going to eat the shipping, right?

Don't sweat the radiators and a weld drip should come off with a with
a punch/chisel/screwdriver.

I have a spare bike you can use anytime!
