Unfortunately, the rear drum is worn beyond specs because the rear
brake was stuck dragging and foolish PO let it go. Do people ever re-
line hubs, or is it scrap metal? Missing spokes and bent rim...

I wonder if the double leading shoe side of the hub is worth anything
alone...
I hate throwing stuff away.

I had a drum relined. It went slightly misaligned and the brake pedal
went up and down while pressed. Aside that, it worked great and was
much cheaper than a new hub.

There is one ('79 XL500 available locally. I think it has a bad front
end, or maybe it was the engine the boy trashed. If you are
interested, I will check.
