I have acquired a mighty cr250r for my collection but since I prefer
riding single track desert, Oregon singles with gnarly tree roots and
such I thought it prudent to switch my 19 inch wheel for an 18, common
to woods riders. I have never done this before and would appreciate
any guidance you experienced folks might give to me. Where do I start?
Thanks,
OF

What year is the bike?

If I'm not mistaken, CR125/250/XR250R/400 share the same hub. The rim
on the XR250 is narrower than on 400 and just the spokes on the CR are
longer.
I did this research a couple years ago when I switched the drum brake
on my brazilian built XR250 with a japanese built XR250 with disk
brake. I was looking for a 400 wheel, but found a great bargain on the
250 complete wheel. Now my bike has a narrower rear rim than the
front.

I'll check part numbers and whatnot in the morning. Did you want a complete
wheel or were you thinking about lacing a different rim to your existing
hub?
