The ride was fun, and somewhat challenging in the ST (special tests)
due to mud and slick conditions (at least, for me on Day 2).
I rode my '82 Husky on Day 1, but abbreviated my ride before ST4 due
to a problem with the engine; deciding instead to take it easy on the
old gal, and just riding the roads back to camp to stave off serious
engine damage.
During this time, I had the privilege of meeting and shaking the
hand of our own David Kelly; who was out there replacing vandalized
course arrows. He is a good guy, and was a pleasure to speak with.
Thanks for your work, David!
I really do have a ride report started, but... after getting home
at 3:30 am on Monday morning and sleeping till 11 am, I awoke to a
call from my field employee, stating that he had injured himself that
morning. (fairly minor injury, but requiring him to be off work for a
week or so) This required me to take care of his job and mine for
that time period.
Since Monday, I have worked till or after dark each day in the
field, and spent evenings performing too many managerial tasks to have
the spare time for creative (or otherwise) writing.
On Day 2, I rode Bob Diffee's spare '85 KDX200. I was #113 both
days. The reason that I mention my number is this:

There is also this:

(Thanks, Brian!)
I hope to get enough time (after work) this weekend to complete a
coherent ride report of the experience.

Preview hint: Tiago, I want to again apologize to you, for not
checking the air pressure in the bike's tires BEFORE I turned you
loose on that '04 EC300 in the mountains of Idaho. I can now
completely sympathize.
I promise that, if you give me another chance, I will do better next
time.
Good Riding!

Thanks for the pre-ride report Jim.
BTW. Don't take the blame for Tiago's 30PSI tires
at ISF06. It was my pump and faulty air gage that
caused his distress.
I swear it was not intentional......since I used the
same gage too.

BTW#2. I wore your "Forget the whales, save the two
stroke shirt" to a bike show yesterday. Got a ton of
compliments. You could sell a hundred more if you
printed them up.
Thanks, Jeff SloCalSpode

Hey, that was fun!
For a long while, my mind went "these people are saying GG bikes are
the best handling bike out there, but I am *sure* VLJ's XR400 is
*much* better, hmmm, maybe I'm not used to really good bikes" :-) I
had fun, I crashed really ugly (twice) and not got hurt... Just
perfect. GG bikes redeemed themselves when I rode the 250cc
motocrosser bike... I really liked that bike.... more than the EC300!
