a 1992 Kawasaki Concours. My friend Pete is upgrading to a 2007 Honda
ST1300. The Concours was given to him a few years ago by a friend of
his and now it's mine. I will pay it forward one day myself, and I'll
bet, if I take to the road, it won't be but a few years. Tracy is
ready to go for ride.

No fair!

I was gonna guess Concours, but you said it had a production run of 10
years. Those things have been around since the 80's.

A winter or two ago, I got a knock at my door. Looked out to see a
Concours in the driveway. Turned out they were having a Concours rally
at the state park down the road and had seen my woodpile and wondered
if I'd sell them firewood. I delivered a truckload to their campsite.
It was supposed to be well below freezing that night, so I'm guessing
they used most of it.

Congrats and thanks for the call... it was a much needed break. Three
resources:

http://kzrider.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/

Outstanding mechanical folk there, and I believe your bike and mine have
common DNA.

Z1 Enterprises - Jeff is GREAT people and 100% about customer service.

For what you can't get through Z1, there's Ron Ayers someplace in the f'ing
south, but I'm not as happy with them as I used to be.

Ride safe... make sure you get your arms around the fact that your belief
system about what can happen is infinitely smaller than reality, and it
always will be. Be on the lookout for opportunities to learn things that
contribute to your belief system, large and small. Consciously set aside
time to expand your belief system every single time you discover a new
element from outside your belief system. First rule of self-preservation...
don't listen to anyone that thinks "they're there" when it comes to
self-preservation. Confidence is a contra-indicator of knowledge
completeness.
