Wow. No personal advice to give, but I wish you the best in a speedy
recovery.

I came very close once. Don't know how I didn't break it... just plain
lucky I guess. Freakish little crash going about 2 mph... fell into a
3 foot deep wash.

I also don't have any input other than best wishes to heal fast!
I got hit by a car on my streetbike once. Next day my neck was
horribly stiff so I drove to the ER. They did some X-rays and suddenly
a team of people came in and strapped me down to a backboard, telling
me I'd broken my neck. After a couple of hours and more X-rays, they
decided they'd read the initial films wrong and said I was fine. It
was a scary experience, considering that about 10 years prior the same
ER had sent me home with a broken back that they'd missed in the X-
rays.
And yes, you certainly do have major bragging rights.

Things went great today. The doctor decided to let the c6 and c7 heal, and
he wants to xray my neck again in 3 weeks. he wants to make sure the space
between the vertabrae is not getting bigger. He says if everything goes
well, at 12 weeks I should be healed up from this. He says there is no
reason that I can't go back to riding and racing. If the vertabrae do start
moving apart then a cervical block/fusion will be necesary. Tim
