Jon Roberson, or RahRah as he is known in various places on the
internet and to those at the Wudi Rides, is taking part in a four
person trip to ride from Canada to Mexico.
They drove from the Memphis area (Jon lives in West Helena, AR) to
Helena, Montana to start their ride. They left their truck and
trailer at Helena and took off on the bikes; 2 DR650Z, 1 KLR 650, and
Jon's 450 EXC.
The first three days were done in a meandering loop that took them
through Glacier National Park to Canada, and then back down to Helena.
Jon called me last night and told me he had over 950 miles on the
clock so far (with some of it being pretty severe for the big dual
sport bikes).
Now, they are headed south through Butte, and a short stretch
through eastern Idaho to Wyoming, before heading down the Continental
Divide to Mexico. The planned CDR (Continental Divide Ride) part of
the trip should take them 2000 miles, (and more, if their start is any
sign.)
The various stages of the trip (planning, preparation, anticipation,
spot reports, etc.) have been/are being discussed on the web site
www.tnridereports.com , There are several threads under the section
"CDR".
RahRah has gotten hooked up with "Spot" to allow folks to check out
their progress. (It didn't work for the first two days, but got the
last 24 hours just fine.)

For the remainder of the trip, they will take turns driving the
chase vehicle (pick-up and trailer). This way, they will each get to
spend three out of each four days riding, and one day resting.
I told Jon that, if his route takes him to the Ft Collins area, to
let me know and I'd try to hook him up with Jeff, Chris, and VLJ,
since he had met the first two at Wudi11.
Good Riding to you!

Oops! Jon is riding a 640 Adventure, not a 450EXC. (Sorry for the
brain fart.)

Ah, that makes a lot more sense. A ride like that on a 450 would be
downright painful.
The route will take him quite a bit west of FC - around Steamboat
Springs. If they should need any help in CO, have them give me a
shout.

Looks like they went to Sturgis on the way out.
Go fast. Take chances.

This is seriously cool and for the first time since about high
school or so, I want something street legal.
