This report is intended for all you folks back east and in the mid-
west:

In Bishop today, temp is about 70F with no wind or clouds. Soil
moisture is dry on top with moist soil about an inch and a half
undeneath. Tomorrow is expected to be the same but abut 72F. Snow on
the upper elevations is melting rapidly and trails up there should be
exposed soon. Here's hoping your spring arrives soon too. OF

25 F and 8" of hard packed/ wet snow with 4" powder on top
here. I spent yesterday running in/out of the house to watch
daytona races (Hayes wins and then GETS DISQUALIFIED!)
and flatten the snow in the driveway so the kids could sled.
Back and forth with the tractor and built a jump that the
UPS guy will hate when he gets here Monday.

Took a ride in the Subaru for 45 minutes, just to have fun
sliding around. NOBODY else on the road but snow plows.
Beer store was open but getting ready to close because nobody
was coming in the door.

Today I took a marathon xcountry ski hike, 3.5 hours, down
into Pierson creek and back. One handed as the cast is still
on my left hand. Hard but fun. When I got back took
the youngun and friends to a bigger hill than the driveway
'cause they were in the sledding zone.

Sorry your weather is so boring.

Go fast. Take chances.

We are now in the BBQ zone and constantly looking for shade. Traction
in the desert, however, is amazing. Kids no longer require my time. My
oldest is in college at Colorado School of Mines and my youngest is in
Monterey doing construction with a friend. I sure miss raising my
kids. OF
