"About 420 off-road dirt bike connecting rods or crankshaft assemblies,
manufactured in China and imported by Wiseco Performance Products of Mentor,
Ohio, because the connecting rods could crack and the engine could lock under
stress. This poses a risk of crashes. No incidents have been reported. The
recalled products were sold by off-road dirt bike distributors across the
country and directly to consumers athttp://www.wiseco.combetween  March 2007 and
December 2008. Details: by phone at 800-321-1364; on the Web at

Wiseco?

WISECO??

That's just pitiful.

Wiseco was once the top of the top in quality pistons & kits, now
reduced to selling chineecrap. I don't think they'll ever get another
penny from me.

Wiseco buying from China?

What's the point buying a piston in a Wiseco box, costing over $100,
when the probably same piston in a box all written in chinese costs
only $10?

you can't trust the brands you used to trust anymore.

 HardWorkingDog shouts:

Wiseco does almost no forging or casting of their own
anymore.  Never did any casting.  They are mostly a
machine shop (and development engineering dept.) now.

As most companies do, they look for the best price/quality
from wherever they can get it.

This time they got bit.

As anybody knows that bought Wiseco stuff pre-CNC
machining centers, the quality wasn't much early on.
"Seize with Wiseco" was their motto.  Lack of proper
camber and material spec meant their pistons were
a last resort when you couldn't find anything else.

Go fast. Take chances.
