Yesterday, I met two brother Timekeepers Motorcycle Club members (Mark
and Paul) in Hollister and from there we load their bikes onto my
trailer and truck-pooled the rest of the way to Clear Creek which
happens to be 1.5 hours for me pulling the 3-rail trailer. The
weather was sunny with a high temp around 68-70 degrees. The rain
from a few days ago made the traction great.
Once at CC, we parked at the very full Oak Flat staging area. Next
weekend is the Quicksilver National Enduro which I will be skipping.
Anyway, we parked, geared up and made our way over to 2 other club
members (Ross and Terry who is the club president and loop #2
captain.) Our goal was to mileage loop #2 and verify the route sheet.
My personal goal was to get some seat time. I got in about 55 miles
of great trails in great condition. The loop is killer fun. I
crashed twice. Both times a rut was involved. Only 1 crash hurt, but
I have no ill effects today. I was riding well despite my hiatus from
riding. Traction is an evil mistress. I was able to take lines
yesterday that are near impossible most of the year down at the creek.
Inside lines that are covered in light small rocks are usually like
marbles, but yesterday they offered excellent traction.
I hope that it rain a little more this week for the National or else
it will be dusty. I had a great day of riding and picked up a couple
new guys to ride with.

Mike, I am jealous. Clear Creek is indeed a heavenly riding area with
a bit of rain. 50+ miles is a good number of miles too. Sounds to me
like you found a perfect day to ride.
