...on a trials bike. A friend took me and son out to Frank Raines park
today with his trials bikes--two Beta 270's and a GasGas 200. It was a
blast!!!

We rode for about 3 hours worked up a sweat and had some pretty good
beginner lessons. He belongs to a trials club that puts on 15 or so
events a year, so he laid out a small course and we went at it. I
finally realized that just off idle is the best place to be for tight
turns. Took some time going over logs, rocks, off camber stuff, up a
creek. I had to fight the urge to sit down when things got gnarly.

Think I need to make more room in the garage...

Too late. You're cooked.
I've always wanted one and don't know why I waited so long.

After the first day getting used to it, I completely lost the urge to
sit. I did about 5 or 6 hours in the woods a few weeks back and
didn't realize until I was done that I hadn't sat the entire time.

I certainly don't own the soapbox on this one, but everyone needs one.

Nope.
YZ250 engine.
I'd swear it has a 9 pound flywheel though.

The new four strokes from Scorpa (Yamaha) and Montesa (Honda) are
getting great reviews from what I've read. They're all pretty new and
chances of finding one for a "starter" price are probably pretty low.

Before I proclaimed them "wimpy", I'd read some of the reviews. I
think in a trials application though, a 2S would be the preferred
motor.
