I am here in Fort Bragg awaiting notification from the state of
California about my application for campground host in a park near
Mendocino. I would get a space for my motorhome all summer long in
exchange for some pretty easy work. In the mean time the routing for
the Sheetiron 300 dual sport ride was right here in town. About 400
riders participated on their dual sport bikes on a ride from
Stonyford, about 150 miles, 300 round trip. I was at the finish
helping the Oakland club as was necessary. From 1:00 PM on, riders
poured in with lots of good stories. Some were covered in mud with
complaints about snow and hail as well as rain. Everyone said that
they would do it all over again which they had to do anyway on Sunday.
They all stayed here overnight in motels or camped. Sunday morning
Fort Bragg was filled with lots of motorcyclists looking for bacon and
eggs before riding back. All, it seemed, had lots of fun,
