Glen Helen race way park is hosting a round of the FIM World
 championship MX.
 From Motorcycledaily.com
-------------------------------------------------
After an undisclosed dispute with the management of the AMA National
Motocross Championships resulted in a cancelation of the May 30 round,
southern California's Glen Helen Raceway bounced back to ink a five-
year deal with the FIM to host a round of the World Motocross
Championship begining this year on the same weekend.

The event, which will be known as the Grand Prix of the United States
of America, is open to American riders, which could result in all of
the world's best on the track at the same time - sort of like the
Motocross of Nations. This will be round 6 of this year's World
Championship, and American riders will be required to qualify for the
main event.

Southern California has traditionaly been the center of the U.S.
motocross industry... home to the participating factories and many of
the top riders.

Sounds like fun, anyone want to go?

One of our local riders is going to ride there this summer for three
months. Look for Katie Cyr to be on a Zook 2fiddy. Great kid, came back
from a real bad one last year and she is looking good.

Something about this whole deal leaves me with the impression it's
going to fall apart.  Something else about this deal makes me think
the Coombs family is getting a bit overly fond of themselves.

scrape smells something fishy:

Davey is a pretty straight up guy from the couple times I've
met him.  But his sister, who's name I can't remember,
is not.  Rhymes with witch.

Wish I could pull off a visit for the race.  Glen Helen is
an excellent place to spectate.

Go fast. Take chances.

Rita is the mother, Carrie Jo is the sister that runs (I believe) the
GNCC series.
