The Real Bev Far From Home asks:

You mean the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea
Memorial Dash? 20 years ago about.

Who's the guy that announces the swamp buggy
'races'? He was an organizer. Now they do a TSD
rally with stops at race tracks for time, at least
they did a few years ago. "One lap of america"
or somesuch.

And what the hell is "far from home"?

Go fast. Take chances.

I was amazed really that this had never been done before. Or at least
documented. Back in my day, dudes could have done it and just plain
forgot;) I wonder if the tarp was on the trailer during the trip, I
did not notice any sponsor schemes in the paint or any other
indication that he was anything more than another motorcycle on the
road. It also seemed kind of minimalist for him to have what looked
like a foam cooler with a bungee chord holding the top on, behind the
driver seat.

I am not sure, but I strongly suspect that plumbing gasoline from a
trailer to a vehicle's gas tank is highly illegal around here...

I could get a tanker truck, those with more than 34 wheels, and drive
from Tierra Del Fuego up to Alaska non-stop as well... :-)

yes, we have those around here
this's Australia, couldn't see one in Brasil pictures, but I see them
every day, I work across the street from two very big fuel resellers.

I wonder if he had tools with him.

What about the Darien Gap? Son drove from LA to Bogota, but took a
ferry there. He left the car there and flew back.

Cheers,
Bev
