MORGANTON, NC (WBTV) - A 17-year old in Burke County is recovering after
being hit by lightning.
He was riding his dirt bike on off-road trails at Pisgah National Forest on
Monday afternoon between 3 and 4 pm.
He had one foot on the footpeg of the bike, and the other on the ground.
The lightning struck nearby, and burned the teenager's foot. EMT's say he
was talking with medical crews and should be okay.
The incident happened near Brown Mountain Beach Road at Brown Mountain off
road vehicle trail about 9 miles nw of Morganton, just off NC Highway181.
