OOOPs,,, edit! The doc wanted me to hit the *gym* not the guy.. Wanted to see
how I could deal with the afib during a workout but I converted to normal sinus
right before I left.. Cool enough.

Really? His prescription for atrial fibrillation was to go
work out? I know nothing about it really but that sounds
counter intuitive.
Is one way of dealing with it falling over dead so he
doesn't have to deal with you (biker scum) anymore?
Go fast. Take chances.

Afib in someone like myself with no other heart issues, is more a distraction
than it is dangerous. Technically I could (and many people do) live a somewhat
normal life with it. If I had other conditions like congestive heart failure,
valve issues, blockage of arteries etc things would be different. I got lucky,
with me, the mechanics are fine, sometimes the firing order screws up a bit...
but even then, she stays runnin':)
For me, afib is more of an inconvenience when I am in it. My heart rate (not
rhythm) is well controlled so I really am not in danger of what you might
consider a "traditional" heart attack. When I am in afib the biggest issues are
a constant sensation of gurgling in my chest and I get tired very easily.
I do have to make a decision soon if I want to change meds again or just live
with the afib. That's why I was going to the gym today to see how it would be
to work out, I already know I can sleep through the gurgling now that I know
more about it.
The upside? Well, based on the battery of tests I have gone through in the last
year or so, I am probably less worried when I get a pain or pull in my chest
than most guys my age. I mean, anything can happen, but doc says nothing he has
seen suggests I am a candidate for your typical heart attack type scenario and
they have looked real close;) Says I can go play as hard as I want...
