The 3rd and final BLM meeting on Clear Creek is going to be at 5:30pm
tonight at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The open house runs from
5:30pm to 6:30pm, then the fun begins. It concludes at 8:30pm. There
should be a pretty good media presence (Lloyd LaCuesta said he'd be
there) and we're hoping for more attendees than the 300 that showed up
in Hollister last week. For the first time in, well...ever...I am
almost feeling positive about the outcome. The BLM's era of screwing
the public is hopefully going to come to an end soon.

Please be there if you can! This goes for you, too, Keith...and anyone
else from the southbay that can make it. You don't even have to stand
up for your allotted 3 minutes of time to speak...just be there and
scowl at Rick Cooper and the BLM, and then smile for the cameras!

Wearing a Timekeeper's jersey is highly recommended <G>

Thanks!

That's my plan seeing as I work about 1/4 mile away from it.  ;-)

It's a shame you couldn't have been there, Mike. How late did you have
to work? We were there until almost 9pm.
It was a great meeting...just ask Joe! It was great to see you again,
Mr Rooney<G> Thanks for taking the time to add your much-needed
comments, even though you've never even ridden Clear Creek before. At
least, not yet<G>

I can't guess how many people showed, but it was standing room only.
We had 2 speakers from the CA OHMV Commission, and one of them totally
ripped Rick Cooper a new one. Rick is the Director of the Hollister
BLM Field Office and has verbally taken responsibility for the total
closure of Clear Creek. It was great to see those guys, and they
seemed genuine in their concern and had some really good things to
say. We also had the director of the CA Off Road Vehicle Assoc there,
along with Don Amador of the BRC and lots of others. We even had a
first grader there talking about how much she loves spending time with
her family at Clear Creek. She brought down the house.

Anyway, I gotta get to work. Again, great to see you, Joe!

Mr. Elvin and Ms. Rowell,

Thanks for filling me in, I got there late but it sure was a packed house.

I wish I could share your optimism about Clear Creek being reopened, but we
really need sympathetic fannies filling seats in Sacramento and DC.  We will
never be able to hire enough lawyers to overcome decades of posturing and
influence by the folks that wish us away.

I did enjoy rumor-mongering and spreading gossip about all the RMD'rs, I bet
some ears were burning.
