had a goal, made a plan, worked the plan...
bikes in the garage, food in the pantry,
no debt (at all), surrounded by friends & family
With God is in my life & I am truly blessed.
We have a moral obligation to not be a burden to
society, now I can now continue my work to
help others become free...teach a man to ride/fish

twas going for more of an inspirational thing...
it appears the world is begging for an economic
train wreck.....we're spending gobs of money
            they don't have!
this will lead to unstable political times when
men's souls will be tested, i for one need
the support of family friends & God to
keep me sane... therefore i made plans
for the worst yet pray for the best..
the way i see it unless some drastic turns
are made in the course were headed
we are in for a bumpy ride

Europe is having the symptoms 1st..
check into the pressure for Greece to
sell of it's assets to prop up their "share"
(hey anybody wanna buy an island)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/mar/04/greece-sell-islands-german-mps
they don't want to sell their land but they may
just have backed them selves into a
position where they have little choice

the USA is writing checks they can't cash...
what assets do they have to back it with?
how about all those national parks they keep
acquiring, you know the ones with all the
natural resources conveniently located beneath them
or worse yet all the houses they
now hold the mortgage to.. think about it.
1st national bank might be your friend now
but who holds the note for 1st national??

i drive old cars, buy stuff that is quality
so i don't have to re-buy it later, don't
eat out... ect... you know those
things our grand parents preached as
a way to survive the great depression.

it can be done, and with less income than
most people think... just need to buy
smart, resist crap you don't need...

bikes excluded from this list since
if the DOT maintains the roads any worse
I'll have ride dirt to work <grin>

once you dig your self out of a hole does
it not make sense that you are in a better
position to get others out...

i don't know, what put me on this path
but here i am, i've been blessed in making
some good choices in life and learning from the
poor ones... i have started up a small network
in my neighborhood of teaching folks life
skills, ya know the crap you should have
learned in schools and from your folks...
the rewards from seeing people take back
their lives is unbelievable... this is way better
than welfare or some other government program
it's eyeball to eyeball, really real....

the way i see it America has about 6 more months
to start fixing it's financial house or it's heading
for some strange times, i hope i'm wrong, but
if i'm right at least i gave people i care about
fair warning.. turn of the TV and go out
to get to know your neighbors... the best way
to get a friend is to be one to them first...

"Whelan - '02 200exc (x2) & '04 MTD 38" <yosef

I've been thru 2 Nissans, they are hard to
wear out...
in the last decade I've restored 12 houses
in that process I've taught kids.
how to make solder run up hill to fit a pipe.
wire a main breaker box, change outlets
remove a bearing wall to double a room size
tile, carpet, shingle, fix toilets, stop a leaky sink
pour a floor, laugh you butt off when you
step on a bucket of paint. fix a furnace replace
thermal coupler & anodes in hot water tanks.
basically we would take on a true fixer upper
and fix everything that had been neglected
since I have a day job this made the projects
go a bit slower, but still there's a bunch of folks
out there that know how to fix stuff around the house.
you have to realize the "student" will mess up
it's what they learn after they mess up that makes
the journey worthwhile... those kids are now
home owners and looking for more projects,
to teach a bunch of kids how to fix stuff (a rare
commodity in  a throw away society)
