I'm not much for writing ride reports, but here is a weak attempt.
David may be able to fill in some of the blanks.
I showed up late as usual.  I didn't arrive until about midnight on
Sunday.
Monday, David, Murray, and I rode the Smokey Dome loop.  It was a long
ride, but the terrain suited me for the first day.  Up Kelley Creek,
down Bremner, around the dome and then the long downhill to the road.
On the way back we did Conant, up to Little Skeleton, and back down
regular Skeleton.  All in all we did 62.4 miles.  On the KTM, I think
I used about half the energy I would have used on the mighty XR.
Murray went home on Monday afternoon, so Tuesday, it was just David
and I.  We rode up Big Smokey and over Snow Slide, then down
Paradise.  That was just over 70 miles.

Wednesday, David went fishing, so I did a short loop by myself.  Down
Bremner to the South Fork of Lime Creek, then up Coyote, and back to
Bremner.  I didn't want to go too much farther than that without a
riding partner.
Wednesday night, my mother and stepfather (Tim) showed up.  Karen came
out just a little later.  After yaking by the fire for a couple of
hours we went to bed.  On my way back to the trailer, I looked up and
saw the most incredible meteor shower I've seen in my life.  There
were shooting stars about every 15-30 seconds.  I don't think anyone
saw me, but I must have looked kind of funny standing in the middle of
camp, staring straight up with my jaw hanging open.
Thursday, we took Tim on the same short loop I did, only backwards.
Bottom of Coyote:

It was still quite a bit of work for him, so he rode with my mom the
next day.  While we sat in the saddle below Iron Mountain resting, a
doe walked around us and watched.  At times she was within 6 feet of
us.  David and Tim tried to hand feed her pieces of granola bar, but
she didn't trust us enough.

David went out to the phone that night and found Bob Reinen from
Oregon.  We went over to his camp and yaked with him and his wife for
a couple of hours reminiscing about past spodefests and spodes.

Friday, David and I went up Kelley Creek, down Blue Ridge, then down
Presidents.  From there we out this road, where we saw more and bigger
beaver dams then I've ever seen before.  We went back up a different
road, across a connector trail to yet another road, which took us back
to the South Fork of Lime Creek right where Roanhide cuts back up the
hill.  We rode up Roanhide to Bremner and back down Kelley Creek.

Saturday, David and Karen packed up.  Tim, my mom and I rode up the
ATV trail at Shake Creek.
Sunday, we all went home.
Once again, a great big thanks goes out to David and Murray for being
there and leading me around.

I suck at the internet.  Here is the picture of the deer I tried to
post.

 HardWorkingDog thanks  Dennis Kennedy :

Yes, fine memories of fine friends (all of you).
Gives me an odd peaceful feeling, just reading and seeing a few pics.

I hope to do it again next year.
Thanks for the report.

I know the feeling. The Sawtooths (Sawteeth?) are a special place, and
time spent with DJ and Murray isn't wasted, either.

Aw, you spoiled the surprise, Dean.
I hope lots of us are making an effort to be there next year. It's
been a while. I know the Harrell's are working to make it happen.
Any chance of another fire dance?

Yeah, what he said Dennis. I'm glad to hear that the 200 is working
out for you. Pretty sweet little bikes, aren't they?
