Assembled masses:

My WR250 (1997 two smoke) is going to CO in a few days
and I need jetting advice that I may ignore but I'm desperate.
My 2-stroke Tuner's Handbook (Jennings) is AWOL, musta
lent it to some scumbag biker.

I found various recommendations but here's where I think
I am in guessing what to put into my carb pre leaving
for CO (9800 feet base camp) from Clevo, OH:(about 650 feet)

Main - 88% of the number on the main now - 360 now so 310-320.
Pilot - same
Needle jet - 2 size smaller
Needle clip - one lower (clip higher)

Now all of that is a wild ass swag but according to my
non-reliable sources, will get me in the ballpark so that
I can get it right on site in CO.

Ya got an opinion, now's the time.

Go fast. Take chances.

Remember that the human body runs on oxygen.
Take it easy the first couple of days if that's an option.
Have fun. I'm jealous.

Dean H. remembers:

We're taking O2 bottles. I hope.

I recall going through mountain passes out there on a CB160. Had to jet
down the main 4 sizes, no other changes. Power was reduced, but at least
it didn't blubber.

Hey - My son just completed the same trip in early July. We already had
his 400 WRF dialed for Mid-Michigan. We simply referred to the Mikuni
Pocket Tuner for the changes and he reportedly ran flawlessly to nearly
10,000'. I realize that's an apples to oranges comparison but I'd go
with it even in your case. - Mike Baldwin
