It looked like a little blip on top of the log would have helped most of
them.

Nah, it's possible that they have been to Dirtwise. The guy that took
me out while I was standing 30 feet off to the side has attended a
Dirtwise course, and didn't improve noticeably. To be fair, I heard he
came back this year, took it again and did much better. No spectators
were harmed during the continued education of the young man.
Phew...

At least the ones that still had a tire on the log at that point, and
hadn't already been ejected over the bars by their wildy rebounding
rear suspension after slamming rear-tire-first into the log.
Endurocross sections make for great spectating.
