I'm not to be one to praise euro-trash, but this thing is the perfect
woods riding machine - they made a spot for 6-pack in the engine
compartment.  Brilliant!

I ride and love a 2 stroke 125, but perfect woods machine?  Perfect
jumper, pit bike, FMX beater, etc. sure, but I find it a bit lacking
for serious woods riding.  Mine is way worked out and in need of a top
end for next season (this reminds me, I really need to choose and
order a top end kit) but I don't think any of them make the torque I
picture a perfect woods machine.  On the bright side, you do get good
at working the clutch and using body english to make things happen.
I've been riding 125s since I was big enough, and it continues to be
my bike of choice, so I'm not trashing them.

On the flip side, mine doesn't have 6 pack storage under the tank :)

I ride a couple of 125s too, and I really like the tiddlers in the
woods.  Torque schmork.  Don't need no torque when you've got a clutch
to mercilessly abuse.  Even my 250F can't get out of it's own way if I
don't give the clutch a stab.

Well, there ya go.  No wonder you don't like it ;).

You know, my primary riding buddy made this same argument when i was
trying to decide on a top end and any other goodies.  Basically said
to hell with trying to get any extra torque, it's a banshee in
powerband and a dog otherwise and you like it that way and ride it
well that way.  Leave it that way, and if you want to throw anything
extra at it get new clutch plates because you abuse the hell out of
that thing.  I think it's a good argument.  I should really stop
procrastinating, pull the head, make sure it's stock bore and get that
wiseco kit on order.

Now now, I love my bike, let's not get it twisted.  It can get me back
to the truck (and the beer) fast as all hell, just slip that clutch
and keep her in powerband.  :)

I had a YZ125 that had no expense spared in converting it to a woods
bike - gearing, skid plates, bark busters, lowered, suspension done,
etc. It still was a real demon to ride it would bike you thisquick...

Then I bought a KTM200EXC - soooooo much better they don't even
compare in the woods....so then I had two bikes, one for woodz, one
for the track. That's the best!
