After owning the Yamaha FZ1 for a little while, I understand 100%.
It's stupid fun. From 6K RPM all the way to 12K RPM, the bike is
simply a rocketship. Below that, it's tame as can be. Commuting to
work, it rarely sees revs about 4K. I tickle the redline on occasion
on my fun rides. I really need to change the gearing. 1st gear is
good for an honest 80MPH (85 indicated).
The other benefit is that my GasGas feels like a bicycle by
comparison. Now if the rain relents some weekend soon, I'll go ride
it.

One of the main reasons I like riding the KLR. Getting on the KTM
afterwards, it feels like it's about half the weight. Mainly, because
it's about half the weight.
