I have a garage full of bikes and they mock me. My pain is similar to
the level I experienced at Spodefest. It's quite managable and hope
to be on plain tylenol by this time next week. I have chains and
sprokets for the 300s. I need to have some welding done on the
Pampera's radiator wing mount. The Derbi Scooter needs to be pulled
out, cleaned up and be made ready for sale. That money goes towards a
adv bike.
I at least got to finish off the rear tire on the FZ1. Hmmm. I only
got 2200 miles out of a sport touring tire and the center has plenty
of tread. Might as well go with super sport tires.
I plan to start riding as soon as the doc gives me clearance. I think
I will start with short rides around the neighborhood on the GasGas.
Dropping it do to lack of strength at a stop is not big deal. Dropping
the FZ1 could hurt my wallet, because I'm not about to screw up my
shoulder to save a falling bike. No way, Not gonna happen!

Could be worse...

Now why would you want to move to OTC meds before you absolutely have
to? That's just crazy talk.

Ignore the torches and pitchforks - it just the neighbors...
Shoulder rehab is a long and painful road - don't rush it. Every
little tweak adds a few weeks. It'll get good again, but don't expect
to be 100% for at least a year. Really.
Hope all goes well (and stay on the pharmaceuticals as long as they
let ya!)

Similar, but my garage is total mess. I really can't take care of it
until the shoulder is all good.

Not really. I'll be needing them for my PT., which will be a real
bitch.

My neighbors are pretty cool, so I forsee no problems.

Yeah, I know. I don't see me doing any off-road stuff for a while.
I'm doing everything the Doc has told me to do and will continue.

Vicoden doesn't do it for me in general. IBProfin works great for me,
but my doc says it's no so good for bone growth, so I'm not to take
it. Tylenol is about 1/2 as effective on me, but that's what the doc
want's me to take. My Vicoden has 500mg of Tylenol in it already.

Hey Mike,
Holler if you need some bikes moved around, I'm not a welder, nor am I a
mechanic, but I can follow directions.
And I could simultaneously ride around your neighborhood, without a shirt
(much like that Spodefest memory) and folks wouldn't even notice you
brapping Gas Gas.
What did your doc say about Alleve?

Otherwise known as generic Naproxen Sodium in the friendly Costco
container. For a while I thought that worked better than other NSAIDs,
but it may just be wishful thinking. When I broke my ribs I took 8 of
them a day (2x4, a 'therapeutic' dose) and I THINK they helped. After a
while I traded off among naprox, ibuprofen and aspirin figuring that
none of them would have time to build up the strength to destroy a vital
organ. So far, so good.
