Late 80's vintage - $400 from craig's list, and I made the cab for
$29. Pretty badass, eh?

Weld (flux-core coil). I used 1/2" electrical conduit for stock - I'm
too lazy to grind off the galvanized coating, so got ugly splattery
welds and a goodly amount of burn-through that I had to fill - made
for strong joints though, and nothing that 10 minutes with a rattle-
can didn't fix.

What a difference - snowblowing with an open cockpit is analogous to
riding through a sand pit behind a '85 CR500 without wearing a helmet
or goggles. My $29 shield makes the job a pleasure.

I see you got the roll your own cage option.
