N Cal, Lost Coast riders

 

Has anybody out there ever riden the Kings Ridge area and is it still
open for rides? OF

 


Do you mean the King Range area? Or King Ridge Road on the north
coast?

The King Range Conservation Area (the real term for what is commonly
referred to as the Lost Coast) used to have a ton of jeep roads and
off-road opportunity but not anymore. Everything is closed unless
signed as "open"...and nothing is signed as "open." It's a ton of fun
for streety dualsport, though, with lots of really funky gravel and
dirt roads thrown in...and most of the time the line is very blurred
between pavemend and dirt. It is heaven on earth when riding a
supermoto. I kind of like to think of it as dirtriding on pavement, as
that is exactly what it feels like. Huge fun <G>
