Okay so I paid of the house early (I hate debt). now I hear about this bail
out your mortgage plan the government has for folks. in order to qualify you
need to live in your home. Owe more than 90% of it's value. Miss 3 payments.
And verify your current income. They will then take your reported income and
adjust your mortgage insurance & property taxes to match 38% of your stated
income (note assets do not figure into this equation).. WOW so since the
house is in my wife's name, I'm divorcing here today, she earns about $5000
a year working part time out of the house. We could home equity loan the
house and buy bikes for everyone & a bunch of gold bars to bury in the back
yard.. Then all I need to do is wait 3 months of not paying the mortgage and
presto good ole tax payers bale my wife out to a new mortgage rate of $158 a
month. Yeeeehhhaaaaa now all I need to do is serve her divorce papers and
not get shot.

Don't you think it would have been prudent for the
gov't bail out to check a few more thing in order
to qualify for free stuff??????

Its like corporations that don't qualify for the bailout buying other
companies that do.
Shazam! Free money (for them).
Or Amex deciding to be a 'bank', and qualifying

Go for it -- if you do all the work I'm sure she'll go along with it.
I'd do it myself except that I'd have to do all the work and I just
don't want to deal with it. Since the house is community property and
we're both on social security and have NO earned income, we could make
out even better and wouldn't even have to bother with a divorce. Theory
has it that we could get half a million for this dump (no, I'm not
joking -- somebody would have to be nuts to pay that much, but Zillow
doesn't lie, right?)...

Why do you think, that the government would "suddenly" have a clue on how to
run anything (except the military, and I'm former military and at times Im
not sure they run it that well neither, LOL..)
Oh wait, that is right Nobama, he's here to fix everything now.
