Well ever since I made it back home from the East Coast SpodeFest with a
missing TTR125, the reality of not having a bike has caused that cash to
burn a hole in the pockets of son # 1. After much research and gut-wrenching
options, tonight he pulled the trigger on a cherry '99 CR250R. This was a 2
owner bike still on its original top end and by all that could be checked
trailside.....appears to be very well maintained. Came with a brand new rear
tire and the following spares: complete set of used original red/white
plastics in serviceable condition, a new SDG tall seat, new Twin Air filter,
3 bottles of no-toil, half gallon of Yamalube 2smoke oil, original clutch
cover, 3 new plugs. All for the proceeds of the TTR +$50. Could probably use
a set of rear wheel bearings and a tube up front, but that's about it. She
runs very strong and crisp and handles like a dream!
Here is the proud new owner just after we loaded her up.

Cool! As a side benefit, Dad has a backup bike. A win-win.

And if recent (personal) history is any sort of harbinger, dad is
going to start getting waxed pretty soon. In an embarrassing manner.

I probably know a good number of them. Just the names, faces and
bikes are different...
Honestly, I really *did* used to be fast as hell.
