So, part 1 of this double-OT post.  Some of you may recall that I got
a new road racing bike, but hated the hacked up multi-color thing,
especially the teal grab handle.  And I really, really hated the
stickers.  So, looking the "rookies on pretty bikes crash first time
out gods" square in the eye, I painted the bike Saturday.  As of now,
my first race on the bike is scheduled to be Saturday morning, with
practice on Friday.  Apparently the "rookies on pretty bikes crash
first time out gods" consulted with the nature gods.  It's going to
rain both days <G>  At least the bike will look decent when I get
there, right?

As for part 2 of this thing, do any of you have a blog?  I never
thought I would.  Ever.  I was thinking though, as I was getting ready
for race season, that I've done a lot of cool and fun things in my
life that get fuzzy in the details as the years go on.  I figured I
should document this whole road racing thing, so I could look back on
it in years to come.  Now that I've actually gone and started doing
so, I'm finding that I'm not overly motivated writing to myself, and
it takes more time than I thought it would even to produce sub-par
entries.  So, if any of you guys have ever had a blog (which for some
reason I doubt) throw me some pointers.  What keeps you going?  What
makes it fun?  Currently it feels like anything I'm writing I'd rather
be posting to a forum of friends or something, where there would be
discussion.  Problem with that is 1) none of my friends in the forums
are going to want to read a detailed documentation of my starting out,
something I'm sure is boring to anyone but me & 2) forums tend to get
cleared every year, or go away after a few years.  So I'm stuck with
the blog, or nothing.

And now, back to your reguarly scheduled dirt bike content.

Well..... blogs are for people who talk more about doing things than
actually doing them.

At least that's my impression.

My blog says three words.

Blogs are gay.

Honestly that's all I had time to write.

Good luck with it.

Generally speaking, I agree with you.  Thing is, i can only race every
other weekend, and I thought this would be fun to have so I could look
back on it years from now and remember starting out.  Problem is, I
don't seem motivated to write much, or take the time to write well.
The blog thing may just crash and burn, I'd rather work on my race
bike, or my dirt bike, or ride one of the two.

You could just do what The Mouse did.. Build a real website. Ours
documents our riding experience all on one page. Pictures, videos and
commentary all there for anyone to look at. The top of the page is
very early experience and as you go down you can see her progress.
It's easy, and you can put a lot more in a webpage than you can a ugh,
blog.. You could always put in a comments script or message board for
others to join in.. BTW, I like the new paint job, still want to
sponsor you a little so we will be in touch.. I could sponsor you a
website if that would help;)

Rowdy Mouse Racing, blogs are for sissys...;)

Sounds good man, I'd love to be part of Rowdy Mouse Racing!  I think
white would look good over the orange as far as stickers go, but I'm
open to ideas.  Let me know what you think would look good.  It won't
take much to achieve sponsor status with me, I'm just doing this for
fun and I like you and the RMR logo.

As for a website, it sounds like a good idea, but would probably be
even more work than a blog.  Keep in mind I can't even find the
motivation to do my blog properly, so my website would likely be even
worse.  Also, then nobody would see it unless I started handing out
fliers or something, and I'm not about to do that.  Might not be a bad
idea though...  wouldn't want to be called a sissy ;)  This is what
I've got so far.
